About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Accountant with bookkeeping experience to manage accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support day-to-day financial processes. This role combines transaction management, reconciliations, reporting, and problem-solving while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transaction Management & Bookkeeping

• Review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions
• Handle complex or unusual transactions requiring manual review (~20% of volume)
• Ensure accurate coding and compliance with accounting standards
• Maintain accurate books for assigned portfolios
• Reconcile monthly books and general ledger accounts
• Support month-end and year-end close processes

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and summaries
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Flag and escalate any accounting issues or anomalies

3. Customer & Internal Communication

• Respond to internal or external accounting-related inquiries
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve transaction or reporting questions
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting or bookkeeping staff, if applicable

4. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Review work for accuracy and adherence to accounting standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
• Maintain organized records and proper documentation for audits

Qualifications

• Prior mid-level accounting experience (typically 2–5 years)
• Bookkeeping experience is required
• High English fluency, both written and verbal
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and general ledger processes
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close
• Familiarity with accounting software and SaaS platforms
• Customer service or client-facing experience is a plus
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms (KPMG, Deloitte, EY, PwC) is a plus

Tools & Software

• QuickBooks or other accounting/financial software
• Familiarity with financial reporting tools and SaaS platforms
• Experience with support/ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk) is a plus
